Septial Edition for EeePC users (XP 32bit)

Postby zartoven » Tue Aug 11, 2009 10:03 am

Hello,

Here is two-disk supporting version.

It supports both 'C' and 'D' drives, and it uses 64Mbytes RAM.
(More precisely, it supports first two fixed disks regardless of partitions)
FlashFire tray icon just monitors only C drive, but it enables or disables C and D drives together.

My system is still stable but my brother had experienced serious crash (corrupted config/system) and was forced to reinstall windows.

Would it be safer to turn "flush" option in registry from 0 to 1?

Sorry, for your brother's Windows...

I think.. supporting multiple device is dangerous (yet....), and flush option may not be a proper solution.
I would better to stop the distribution of this version.

Hello FF,
It works extremely fine with my 901eeepc. Is it possible to support 3 fixed disk as I made SD card as fixed disk and I want all 3 drives with ff performance. If there is a way in setting parameter to support all three or I can change disk number 2 and 3 instead of 1 and 2. Actually, I do not use 1st disk but only 2nd and 3rd(SD).

Thanks for your help and keep up the great work.

Hello Again,

Mistake in disk number in the earlier comment.
I meant is it possible to select drives 1 and 2 instead of 0 and 1. Thank you for your support.

Regards,
Eeeee

The tool works pretty well on my EEE 901. Hangs were replaced with noticeable slowdowns but it is still better than before :)
btw is there any "howto" about usage of the generic flashfire?
I run "ffcntl.exe 0 on" and got "enabled" and run "ffcntl.exe 1 on" and got "not installed" - it's all about the generic version.
The eee-pc version works for both drives but I'd like to know what I can tune in it and how.

Is this equal to latest F Dev version other than the 2 disk support?

hi, it's really work. thank you.

it is desirable to be in a possible to increase a buffer RAM for the increase speed
(in my EeePC 901 i use 2GB SDRAM)
and turn on FF for 3rd disk
(in my EeePC 901 i use SDHC card with Hitachi Microdrive driver as a main data device)

This version works great, there is only a slow speed on 64KB write, it seems not using Flashfire cache for that size infact it goes at the same speed without flashfire at 64kb

Thanks again for your work
